Equations of Amplified Anxiety

S = A’ × (UC × C² + E)

The equation S = A’ × (UC × C² + E) reflects how Amplified Anxiety (A’), combined and multiplied by Unhealthy Coping (UC), Conditioning (C²), and External Pressures (E), creates cycles of suffering. By addressing amplified anxiety through “Inner-vention” (Zazen meditation), we can transform the dynamic between amplified anxiety aspects of mind (mostly in the area of the limbic system and amygdala) and higher, wiser, kinder, more responsive brain (neocortex and right hemisphere) function.

Zazen builds both Attention and Awareness, teaching us to observe experiences without becoming entangled in them. Through consistent practice, we create space between trigger things to aspects of mind and our habitual survival reactions, weakening anxiety’s grip and reducing unhealthy coping mechanisms.

That said, our practice doesn’t 'fix' us—because we're not 'broken,' humans... where people that have had broken and unhealthy experiences that ask for support and healing of wounds with anxiety as it's leading signal and indicator. Instead the “Inner-vention” of Zazen, untangles and opens the hand of our attention from the mind’s fears and insecurities, shifting us from reactive patterns to responses that allow us to be a ease with ourselves and present moment experiences fearing-less and open to something other than what thinking mind projects at attention... Reality AS REALITY.

As amplified anxiety (A’) loses its ability to grab, pull and turn the steering wheel of attention as a result of our consistent meditation practice, it weakens (on a spectrum) the other factors impact the equation, dissolving the feedback loop of suffering.

Through regular Zazen practice... our “Inner-vention”—sitting, breathing, listening and noticing with spacious attention—we return to our inherent wholeness, transforming anxiety from a driver of behavior into a gateway to clarity and resilience... at home as our HOME as a refuge and temple of kindness, friendliness and wholesome compassion.
